Call for Papers: African Congress on Politics and Society
Sakarya University is delighted to announce the 1st Congress on Politics and Society in Africa, which will take place online from October 22-23, 2025.
This congress aims to guide research on the African continent and offer future perspectives. Our primary goal is to academically examine and open up discussions about Africa. We also seek to analyze political and social changes occurring in Africa and provide a platform for discussing new viewpoints.
Sakarya University invites all researchers to participate in this congress, organized to foster a deeper understanding of the region and propose solutions to its challenges.

Key Information
Languages: The congress will be held in Turkish and English. Only presentations in these languages will be accepted.
Turkish Participation Limit: Participation from Türkiye will be limited to 45% of the total number of participants.
Abstract Review: All abstract submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
Submission Deadline for Abstracts: Please submit your abstract (250-300 words) along with your personal information via the online form on the website by July 20, 2025.
Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: You will be notified of the status of your abstract (accepted/waitlisted/rejected) on July 30, 2025.
Full Paper Submission for Congress Proceedings: Participants who meet the criteria may publish their papers in the Congress Full Paper Proceedings Book. Full papers should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words and must be submitted to the congress email address by October 1, 2025.
Journal Publication Opportunity: Participants also have the option to publish their papers in the "Turkish Journal of African Studies (TUJAS)," provided they meet the journal's publication criteria. Papers submitted for journal publication should be between 6,000 and 10,000 words and must be sent to the congress email address by October 1, 2025.
Participation Fee:
For Turkish citizens: ₺1000
For foreign nationals: €45 / $50
A 50% discount will be applied to the participation fee for students who provide a valid student ID.
